TOYO TIRES SUPPORT THE MGOC RACE CHAMPIONSHIP

After using the same brand of tyre since 2003, The MG Owners’ Club Race Championship will be changing tyre supplier for the 2020 season. A new package has been agreed with Toyo Tires with Toyo Proxes 888R being announced as the new control tyres used in the race series.

Championship co-ordinator Jim Baynam said “The championship regulations have, for many years, demanded that all cars must use the same make and type of tyre. This goes a long way towards achieving a level playing field for all drivers and allows advantageous deals to be negotiated with manufacturers. The Technical Director of Toyo Tire (UK), Alan Meaker, has a long history in supplying tyres for many forms of UK motorsport and has been instrumental in putting together this great package for the race team”.

Alan, who owns a Midget and is an MGOC member, said “the 888R is the latest version of Toyo’s tyre for any form of motorsport where treaded road tyres are required, it is E marked and fully road legal and is listed on Motorsport UK List 1b. The MG Owners’ Club Race Championship is well-established and highly respected and offers us a great platform to showcase what is already proving to be the preferred tyre for an increasing number of championships. As an MG owner myself I have followed the championship for many years and we are delighted to be nominated as the tyre supplier for an initial three year period.  The nominated supplier will continue to be High Wycombe based Adams & Page who themselves have been heavily involved in Club and National level motorsport for many years”.

Toyo Tires have made a generous offer whereby any driver who is registered for the current 2019 season and purchases a set for four tyres from Adams & Page will receive one tyre for free. In addition to this, the main sponsor, Lancaster Insurance, will be giving every registered driver a credit of £100 for use at Adams & Page towards their first set of 888R tyres. Adams & Page have also offered a further reduction of £5 per tyre off the already reduced competitor’s price. http://www.adamsandpage.co.uk/

This exciting and highly attractive introductory offer will add new impetus to an already successful championship and the team look forward to 2020 with renewed enthusiasm.
